THE BAKER FAMILY

Karin and Mike. Karin is from Germany, which gives Mike a great excuse to visit Austria. . .the homeland of the haflinger. Both spend numerous hours weekly in the mountains around Raton, fishing, hiking and horse back riding.

THE TAFOYA FAMILY

After living in the city for ten years, our small hometown of Raton beacons. Our son Jordan, 7 and our daughter Kadyn, 4 love Raton so much that every time we came to visit, they never wanted to leave. (Having both sets of grandparents here may play a small part in that.) Many people see Raton as little more than a gas stop. We, however appreciate this place for something much more. With little distraction from the hustle and bustle of the big city, time seems to move much slower here. Fishing, camping, hunting and of course, horseback riding are just a few of the activities we finally have time for. We hope to build a house here in the next year or so. We had to build our barn first though! We welcome you to take a look at our dream in progress.

Jordan LOVES living on the farm. He has 60 chickens, and wouldn't go inside if he didn't have to sleep and eat.

Kadyn is as tough as any boy you've ever met, but in a princess dress.
